How we work

Which stage is your website project in?

Every site goes through the same four stages in the same order. Whether you're starting from scratch or already have content and designs, we pick up wherever you are.

Copy

Copy comes first. The layout of every page is shaped by what it has to say, so the sitemap, the message of each page, and the copy itself are finalized before design begins. Conversion-focused copy is written to get a visitor to act, not to describe the company.

Working with a marketing agency? They usually own this stage: strategy, messaging, and the content itself. We take it from there. If no one is writing it, it's in scope.

Design

Design turns finished content into full-color, high-fidelity mockups of every template, mobile first, with accessibility and performance decided in the design file. Two revision rounds per stage, feedback consolidated from everyone who has a say. What's approved here is what gets built.

If your agency sends a wireframe with the content, it's our starting point. If you already have a finished design from your own designer, this stage is done; we build from the file.

Web design

Development

The approved design becomes a live site, built on a staging server you can watch. Every page is checked against Core Web Vitals, WCAG 2.1 AA, and schema validation before you see it, and you get the scores with the staging link.

Launch is a checklist: redirects mapped, Search Console and analytics verified, forms tested, performance re-checked on the live domain.

Web development

Growth

A live site needs two things running at once.

The website

Us
  • Core Web Vitals, mobile and desktop
  • Uptime, security, backups, updates
  • Crawl, indexing, and sitemap health
  • Schema and structured data
  • Implementation of whatever your marketing team sends
  • A monthly technical report, written to be forwarded

The marketing

Your team or agency
  • Content and publishing
  • Keywords and rankings
  • Campaigns and ad spend
  • Backlinks and outreach
  • Social, email, off-site channels
  • Reporting on all of it

A fast site with nothing published on it stays where it is. A steady stream of content on a slow one doesn't get the credit. Both lanes, or neither one pays off.
